MONROE, CT — The Presidential Election is stirring passions on both sides of the political aisle and Connecticut has contested state seats, including the 112th House and 22nd Senatorial districts representing Monroe.
Though Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, early voting, which begins Oct. 21, is also an option.
Polls at all four polling places in Monroe will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 5:
- District 1: Fawn Hollow Elementary School, 345 Fan Hill Road
- District 2: Stepney Elementary School, 180 Old Newtown Road
- District 3: Monroe Elementary School, 375 Monroe Turnpike
- District 4: Masuk High School, 1014 Monroe Turnpike

Early Voting
Early voting is new this year and will be available in person at Monroe Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road on the following dates:
- Oct. 21 – 28, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Oct. 29 and 31, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.
- Oct. 30, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Nov. 1 – 3, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Those not currently registered to vote can still register, the deadline for the upcoming General Election is Friday, Oct. 18.
The easiest and quickest way to register to vote is online, if you have a valid Connecticut driver’s license, learner’s permit or non-driver photo ID card issued by the Connecticut DMV.
Click here to register online. You may also print a voter registration card from our website and mail it into the Registrars of Voters’ Office. Mailed applications must be postmarked by Oct. 18.
Or stop by the Registrars of Voters’ Office during regular office hours (Tuesdays 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Thursdays 12 – 3 p.m.).
The Registrars of Voters will also hold a special voter registration session on Friday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. in the Registrars of Voters’ Office at Monroe Town Hall. Please bring ID and proof of residence.
Same Day Voter Registration
Those who are not registered, but want to vote during the Early Voting period, may register and vote in person on any of the days of Early Voting at the Early Voting location.
Those who are not registered, but want to vote on Election Day, may register and vote in person on Election Day at the Election Day Registration site at Town Hall.
