FAIRFIELD, CT — Olé Soccer, a youth soccer organization with a location in Monroe, now has its own professional team: Olé Football Club.
“We are very excited to now have our own professional soccer team, which will complete our development cycle and give our local youth players an opportunity to compete at the professional level,” Rodrigo Nunes, owner of Olé
Soccer, said in a press release.
“Our home games will be played at our new state-of-the-art stadium field and facility which will be located in Ansonia, coming 2023,” he said. “We will begin competing in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) this Fall 2022. We look forward to seeing our youth players and families at the home games cheering on their professional team. This is truly a dream come true for me, my coaching staff and for our Connecticut players and families.”
Olé Football Club also released its fall schedule.
Olé Soccer is one of the leading youth soccer organizations in Connecticut with approximately 3,000 families linked to its youth soccer programs. It offers an array of youth soccer programs and training from recreational to competitive play for age 18-months to 18-years-old.
Olé Soccer has locations in Fairfield, Monroe with plans to come to Ansonia. The organization made the announcement about its professional team on Aug. 10.
“We are very happy to have this opportunity to work with Rodrigo Nunes and his staff and bring professional soccer to Connecticut,” said Rodrigo Cruz, president of Olé F.C. Olé Soccer “My professional coaching staff and I have a successful track record as we were previously UPSL Champions in Atlanta, Ga.”
“The plan is to bring a National Title to Connecticut and to also begin a women’s professional team,” Nunes said. “We hope you will join us at our home games.”
