Stephen Henn to be remembered as a family man, who proudly served his country

Stephen Henn, 89, of Monroe, Connecticut passed away on March 18, 2024.

Stephen was born in Potoci, Bosnia to Rudolf and Milka Henn on October 23, 1934. He married Jolan Holecz on August 11, 1962, at St. Stephen’s Parish in Bridgeport.

Stephen received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Bridgeport and worked as an engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft for over 20 years. He was a veteran and served in the Army as a heavy weapons infantryman.

He was involved in AYSO youth soccer in Monroe for a number of years.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Jolan, his two sons Stephen and Christopher, and their spouses Alison and Stacie, and his six grandchildren, Lyndsay, Matthew, Nicholas, Jackson, Katharine, Wiktoria, and Eric.

A Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at St. Jude Church in Monroe, Conn. Burial will follow at Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown at 2 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher and Son Community Funeral Home.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude Parish in Monroe, Connecticut or DAV.Org (Disabled American Veterans Organization). www.spadaccinofuneralhome.com to leave an online condolence.
