STRATFORD, CT — State Sen. Jason Perillo, R-Shelton, will host a public forum to discuss the future of Connecticut’s housing laws, including the 8-30g statute for affordable housing and proposed legislation like H.B. 5002.
It will be held int he Stratford Public Library, 2203 Main St., on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m.
In addition to Perillo, the event will also be led by State Rep. Tony Scott, R-Monroe, State Rep. Ben McGorty, R-Shelton, and housing reform advocate Maria Weingarten.
The event will focus on how these policies impact his district, which includes Shelton, parts of Seymour, Monroe and Stratford, as well as other nearby communities striving to balance affordable housing goals with local control.
Residents will have the chance to hear from policymakers and engage in a dialogue about upcoming legislative changes and their potential effects on local neighborhoods.
