Panthers swim to victory over Bunnell-Stratford

MONROE, CT — The Masuk High boys swim team defeated visiting Bunnell-Stratford 91-73 on Jan. 24.

Masuk’s 200 yard medley relay team of Jack McHugh, Carter Adragna, Sam McHugh and Riley Sheppard was first in a time of 1:51.38.

Brendan Kirberger won the 200 freestyle race in 1:57.94. Adragna won the 200 individual medley race in 2:12.08. Sheppard was first in the 50 in a time of 24.40. Sam McHugh won the 100 butterfly event in 58.20.

Sheppard took first in the 100 free in 54.70. Kirberger swam to first in the 500, finishing the race in 5:20.63.

The 200 free relay of Kyle Zarker, Sam McHugh, Keller Hall and Sheppard came in first in 1:41.96.

Jack McHugh won the 100 backstroke race in 1:00.63.

Masuk secured the team victory and exhibitioned the final two events. Adragna was Masuk’s fastest in the 100 breaststroke race in 1:05.57.

In the 400 free relay, the team of Zarker, Kirberger, Alexander Malecki and Sheppard finished in 3:55.42.

Masuk is home Tuesday, Jan, 31, when Weston visits at 6 p.m.
