Benedict Farm open space purchase tops bonding approved by Monroe voters

MONROE, Conn. — Voters’ approval of the purchase of Benedict’s Farm, which will preserve 65 acres of open space in perpetuity, highlighted three decisions made at a Town Meeting Monday evening. Residents also voted in favor of bonding for just over $2 million worth of road construction/reconstruction and the Todd Drive culvert replacement, as well as to bond for $165,000 to fund the 2026 Fire Department Improvements and Vehicle Purchase Project. Monroe youth, coach games put a wrap on spring soccer; discount now to register for fall

MONROE, Conn. — Monroe’s AYSO Region 79 spring soccer season came to an exciting, fun-filled end with a jamboree at the fields near Great Hollow Lake at Wolfe Park on Saturday. Youth games were held throughout the morning and afternoon following the annual game for coaches. Reporter Andy Hutchison coaches the U6 co-ed team.
