Record set as Masuk swimmers and divers make big postseason splash

The Masuk High girls swimming and diving team placed eighth, with 266 points, in the Class M State Championships. Masuk had a team record-setting performance from swimmer Lena Savkovic among its tremendous results. Diving championships took place in Middletown on Nov. 6, swim trials were in Cheshire Nov. 9 and the swim finals were at Cornerstone Aquatics Center in West Hartford on Nov. 12. Aldi celebrates grand opening of Monroe store

MONROE, CT — Shoppers welcomed the new Aldi supermarket to town with open arms Thursday morning, filling the parking lot in the upper level of Town Line Plaza, 205 Monroe Turnpike, and joining the long line of people anxiously waiting for the manager to open its doors.
