“Without question we have the best town clerks office anywhere,” Rooney said Tuesday. “There is no arguing that Vida is one of the best public servants Monroe has ever had. Under her leadership, not only do citizens in town get whatever they need whenever they need it, it’s always done with courtesy, integrity and respect for everyone who walks through the door.”

“Sue DeGeorge and Peggy Scalzo have been a wonderful addition to the Town Clerk’s Office and it’s very obvious they have taken leadership advice from Vida Stone in the way they manage their positions as well,” Rooney said. “Citizens may not understand that the Town Clerk’s Office is one of the most vital departments in Town Hall and our people always go above and beyond for our residents — and I appreciate that.”

“I am truly thankful for the opportunity to serve as town clerk and to be part of a team dedicated to helping our community,” Stone said. “Every day we get to support our residents and the public at large, keeping history alive and proving that paperwork really does make the world go round. In the Town Clerk’s Office, we are a trusted resource working together with pride to serve our community and provide support people can count on every day.”
