MONROE, CT — Ten middle school girls were chosen for Monroe Parks and Recreation’s fifth and sixth grade all star basketball team and will play in an all star game against Newtown’s best players.
The Monroe Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the Newtown Youth Basketball League for the past 10 years to offer a recreational league for girls.
Monroe had three teams in the league this season and the best players were chosen from among them to form the town’s all star team.
Those selected include Alyssa Zurich, Alana Laurent, Riley Riccio, Molly Boyle, Carolina Pol, Emma Pryor, Katya Christopher, Olivia Braziel, Livy Tewani and Rose Gonzalez.
The team will be coached by Adam Pryor.
