MONROE, CT — Monroe Elementary School fourth graders hosted a Veterans Day assembly, during which they performed patriotic songs and recited poems for their families Friday.
“Veterans were treated to refreshments following the performance and then returned to a fourth grade classroom, where they taught students about their time in the service and answered questions,” Principal Kelly Svendsen said.
