Meet Fawn Hollow Elementary School’s new teachers

MONROE, CT — Fawn Hollow Elementary School will welcome six new teachers when the new school year begins on Wednesday. Below are profiles of each.

Chris Buzi

Position: 4th grade teacher

Previous School District: Bridgeport

Grew Up In: Monroe

Education: Western Connecticut State University and Sacred Heart

What do you like most about teaching?: What I like most about teaching is interacting with the students and watching them grow throughout a school year. I also like working with a team toward a worthwhile goal and I believe there is no more worthwhile goal than preparing our children for the future.

What are you most looking forward to in Monroe?: Monroe is my hometown, so I am excited to give back to the community that raised me. It is very nostalgic to be back in town. I have so many great memories from growing up here and I am looking forward to recreating those memories with a new generation of students.

Alison Partridge

Position: Kindergarten teacher

Previous School District: Fairfield

Grew Up In: Brookfield

Education: Master’s in elementary education and 6th Year Degree in literacy

What do you like most about teaching?: Building relationships with students and their families and creating an environment where kids can find their love of learning!

What are you most looking forward to in Monroe?: Joining the school and town community, which has already shown to be incredibly welcoming and supportive!

Megan Cowic

Position: Special education teacher

Previous School District: Ridgefield Public Schools

Grew Up In: Fairfield

Education: Master’s degree in special education

What do you like most about teaching?: Helping students become the best version of themselves.

What are you most looking forward to in Monroe?: Becoming a member of the Monroe Public Schools family.

Megan Hine

Position: Special education teacher

Previous School District: Easton

Grew Up In: Monroe

Education: University of Connecticut: Bachelor’s 2016 and Master’s 2017, WGU 2023 6th year

What do you like most about teaching?: Establishing meaningful connections with students and their families

What are you most looking forward to in Monroe?: Coming back home and working with familiar faces!

Pam Pascarella

Position: Physical education teacher

Previous School District: A private School in Newtown, Pre-k-8th grade

Grew Up In: Stamford, but have been living in Fairfield for the past 12 years

Education: Undergrad at the University of Connecticut, Master’s degree from Manhattanville College

What do you like most about teaching?: Teaching allows me to share my passion for sports and fitness with my students and inspire them to lead healthy and active lifestyles.

What are you most looking forward to in Monroe?: I am looking forward to meeting a very welcoming community and I am excited to meet my students!

Alejandro Jimenez

Position: Music teacher for Fawn Hollow and Stepney

Previous District: Beijing, China and Ector County ISD, Odessa West Texas.

Grew Up In: Puerto Rico

Education: Bachelor of music education from the University of Puerto Rico, Master’s in music education from Central Connecticut State University, 6th Year in Supervision and Administration from Central Connecticut State University, Orff Training Level 2 from the University of Connecticut

What do you like most about teaching?: I love to see children get happy and excited learning music and, within a few weeks, they will say, “I can read, play and sing” the song.

What are you most looking forward to in Monroe?: I am looking forward to be a team player at the two schools, Fawn Hollow and Stepney to blend in and to be able to create a non-traditional performing ensemble exploring music of the world, singing, dancing, playing.
