Masuk’s defending champs return to the volleyball court

Daniel Ferris and the Panthers are looking to repeat as state champs.

MONROE, CT — The defending state champion Masuk High boys volleyball team is back at it and ready to go for another crown.

“Our team is solid all around defensively and offensively,” Coach Hipolito Castro said.

Masuk is led by junior captains: outside hitter Daniel Ferris, setter Nathan Kurkoski and outside hitter Michael Majersky.

In addition, junior middle hitter Mathias Aoech and junior libero Nicholas Adams bring skill to the court.

The Panthers open the campaign this Saturday when Xavier visits at 11 a.m. Masuk begins the season with three nonconference matches, following up the Xavier tilt with Ridgefield and St. Joseph. The first SWC match is Friday, April 5, at Barlow at 6 p.m.
