Masuk’s baseball team rallies for 3-1 win over Stratford

Steve Curtain, playing the infield earlier this spring, won in relief as the Masuk baseball team came back to defeat Stratford 3-1 on Wednesday.

MONROE, CT — After the visiting Stratford High Red Devils broke a scoreless tie in the top half of the sixth inning the Masuk baseball team responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame to post a 3-1 win on Wednesday.

Carson Falcone was 3-for-3 and had the game-tying RBI single. Falcone also scored the go-ahead run. Quinn McGuire doubled and scored and Chris Cascella had an RBI double. Chris Welch and Steven Curtin added singles.

Steven Curtin got the win pitching 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief allowing only two hits while striking out four. Justin Fanning pitched 5 1/3 allowing only 1 run on 2 hits while striking out five.
