Masuk swim and dive competes in states

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Masuk High’s girls’ swimming and diving team placed 14th in the Class M State Championships. Masuk had 163 points. Daniel Hand of Madison won the competition with 522.

The swimming events took place in West Hartford on Tuesday, while the diving competition was held at Sheehan High in Wallingford on Nov. 11.

Eva Helmke came in third in the 50 yard freestyle race with a time of 24.78 and placed second in the 100 backstroke race in 1:00.41.

Kate Wittenauer was fifth in the diving competition with a score of 362.95, Carly Jordan was eighth with a score of 319.75, and Caroline Wittenauer was 15th with a scores of 266.60.
