Masuk Panthers push Falcons to 5th set in championship match

REDDING, CT — No. 2 Masuk High’s boys volleyball team forced five sets before falling to host and top seed Joel Barlow in the South-West Conference Championship match on Friday.

The Falcons overcame hard-fought second and third game wins by the Panthers to prevail 3-2 (25-14, 24-26, 22-25, 25-16, 15-9).

Dan Ferris racked up 29 kills, Michael Majersky had nine kills and Nate Kurkoski racked up 44 assists.

Masuk earned the No. 5 seed in the Class M State Tournament and will host No. 12 Newington in the Wednesday, May 29, first round at 6 p.m.
