Masuk hockey team records two victories

Masuk High’s hockey team skated to a pair of victories in three days, toppling Lyman Hall 8-2 in Northford on Saturday and edging the BBDI co-op 4-3 in Shelton on Monday.

Against Lyman Hall, Luke Kondub scored four times, Nick Kondub had two tallies, and Christian LaBella and Trey Migliarese both lit the lamp once.

Nick Kondub and Ryan Ewald each recorded a trio of assists, LaBella had two assists, and Luke Kondub and Tommy DaPonte each help set up goals.

Goaltender Maddex LaFountain played two-and-a-half periods and Brady Floramo got a half period of game action under his belt in the win.

In the hard-fought victory over BBDI (Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Immaculate) LaBella scored twice and Migliarese and Nick Kondub hit the back of the net. Both of the Kondub brothers recorded a pair of assists, and LaBella and Ewald had helpers. La Fountain was in net for Masuk.

At the halfway point of the season, the Panthers are 7-3 overall and 3-1 in conference action.

The Panthers have some impressive statistics in the books. Nick Kondub has logged 18 goals and 20 assists for a team-best 38 points. Luke Kondub has eight goals and 24 assists for 32 points. LaBella had 16 goals and 13 assists for 29 points. Ewald has a pair of goals and eight assists for 10 points and Cybart has five points all on assists.
