Masuk hockey team heating up on the ice

SHELTON, CT — The Masuk High hockey team won a trio of games in an eight-day span, all on its home ice in Shelton. Masuk had two players register three-goal hat-tricks along the way. The Panthers crushed Brien McMahon-Norwalk 8-2 on Dec. 20, beat Branford 4-1 on Dec. 23 and topped Newtown-New Fairfield 4-2 on Dec. 27.

In the win over McMahon-Norwalk, Luke Kondub scored three goals, Nick Kondub and Christian LaBella both netted a pair and Christian Palmieri scored.

Nick Kondub had four assists, Luke Kondub assisted on a trio of goals, LaBella had two assists and Connor Kehlenbach, James Cybart and Ryan Ewald each had one assist.

Against Branford, LaBella logged three goals and Nick Kondub had one. Luke Kondub registered a trio of assists, Nick Kondub set up two goals and LaBella had an assist on one.

In the Newtown-New Fairfield game, LaBella and Nick Kondub both had two goals and two assists, Luke Kondub had two assists and Ewald added one assist.

Connor Ewald, James Cybart, Connor Kehlenbach and Ryan Ewald have all played solid defense in front of goalie Maddex LaFountain.
