Masuk hockey team cruises into state semis with 6-0 win over E.O. Smith Tolland

HARTFORD, CT — It is on to the Division III State Tournament semifinals for the Masuk High hockey team. The Panthers shut out their second opponent in as many games to begin tourney action, blanking E.O. Smith-Tolland 6-0 at Trinity College in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Nick Kondub had four goals and two assists. He has scored 10 of the 13 goals and assisted on the other three Masuk has scored in state tourney action thus far.

In the quarterfinal round win, Christian LaBella notched two goals and two assists. Luke Kondub registered four assists. James Cybart, Connor Kehlenbach and Ryan Ewald each had one assist.

Goalie Maddex LaFountain has posted back-to-back shutouts.

Up next, the Panthers face top seed Bethel-Brookfield-Danbury-Immaculate in the Monday, March 11, semis. The game will take place at Quinnipiac University in Hamden at 8 p.m.
