MONROE, Conn. — Aryan Sharma is the valedictorian of Masuk High School’s Class of 2026, the school announced, saying Sharma is a student who has embodied what it means to be a Panther, with consistent efforts both inside and outside the classroom. He has consistently been committed to leadership and service, embracing his opportunities to fuel his personal growth.
Sharma has excelled in a wide variety of clubs at Masuk, demonstrating an unparalleled dedication to the things that he is passionate about through a variety of extracurriculars. He is the captain of the varsity tennis team, and has achieved an All-Conference designation four years in a row.
As a STEM focused person, Sharma serves as president of the Math Team and the Mathematics Honor Society, the Physics Club, and is president of the Science National Society. He is a longtime member of the Masuk Robotics Leadership council, mentoring the middle schoolers in the Masuk Robotics Program.
Sharma is the competition coordinator of Masuk’s DECA chapter and the Class of 2026 historian, further reinforcing his dedication to leadership, growth, and competition. Finally, his dedication to academia has earned him recognition in the Social Studies National Honor and the National Honor Society.
His dedication outside of Masuk is even more impressive. He has developed his own app for VEX Robotics with over 1,000 users, and has partaken in internships at companies like Oracle Cloud Computing. Sharma does all his activities while working as an ice-cream scooper as a part-time job, and remains dedicated to serving his community, volunteering as a camp counselor at the Panthers Robotics Camp for over 240 hours, teaching middle schoolers to code.
Asked what he will miss most about Masuk, Sharma said there is nothing more important to him than the friendships and relationships he has been a part of, learning to collaborate and thrive among Masuk’s vibrant and diverse community.
Sharma will be attending the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign this coming Fall, studying Computer Science and Physics, with goals of using his love for STEM to make a meaningful impact.
Masuk High would like to congratulate Aryan Sharma on his achievements and this honor. His dedication to excellence and commitment to his community demonstrate what it truly means to be a part of the Masuk community.
