MONROE, Conn. — Sanjit Selvaraju is the salutatorian of Masuk High School’s Class of 2026, the school announced. Selvaraju, a student known for his versatility, leadership, and passion for finance and technology, has made the most of every opportunity at Masuk — leaving his mark both inside and outside the classroom.
Throughout his four years at Masuk, Selvaraju has distinguished himself as a scholar and leader, excelling in rigorous coursework, while balancing a remarkable range of extracurriculars. He has competed at the varsity level in both soccer and volleyball, serving as captain of the volleyball team. He is a co-leader of the Math Team and a member of the National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Math Honor Society (Mu Alpha Theta).
His entrepreneurial spirit and passion for finance are evident through his work with DECA, where he serves as vice president of competition. Selvaraju has earned back-to-back first place finishes at the State Career Development Conference and advanced to the International Career Development Conference as a finalist.
Beyond the classroom, Selvaraju has dedicated himself to service. As an Eagle Scout — a rank achieved through 100-plus hours of service, including designing and building a 16-guitar wall rack for Masuk’s music program — he has also volunteered as a robotics camp instructor, food pantry assistant, and financial literacy educator.
Asked what he will miss most about Masuk, Selvaraju reflected on the team bonding and camaraderie built through sports, the friendships forged with classmates and teachers, and — of course — the cafeteria ice cream.
In the fall, he will attend New York University to study finance and data science, where he hopes to pursue his passion for finance and use his skills to make a meaningful impact on the world.
