SOUTHBURY, Conn. — The defending South-West Conference Champion Masuk High girls golf team came back from spring break with a win in its first of four scheduled matches in as many days.
The Panthers carded 189 to defeat host Pomperaug of Southbury (210) at Pomperaug Golf Course on Monday.
Abigail Yeager shot a 43 for medalist honors, Adriana Lupo had a 45, Alex Cecchino 46, Emma McIntyre 55 and Megan Putnam 57.
Masuk went into the break having beaten host Notre Dame Prep with a score of 196 (Notre Dame did not have enough golfers to score as a team) at Fairfield’s Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course on April 8.
The Panthers were led by Lupo with a 42. Cecchino had a 49, McIntyre 52, Yeager 53 and Putnam 65.
Masuk hosts Joel Barlow of Redding at Whitney Farms Golf Course Tuesday at 3 p.m.
