Masuk goalie Sophie Clark sets save record

Masuk goalie Sophie Clark, in action at home this spring, became the program's all time saves leader, with 326 career stops, when she made three saves at Notre Dame on Thursday.

FAIRFIELD, CT — Goaltender Sophie Clark became Masuk High’s all time saves leader during the Panther lacrosse team’s 17-4 win at Notre Dame-Fairfield on Thursday.

Clark, a senior captain, made a trio of saves on the five shots she faced during her time in goal and now has 326 career stops (23 this season).

Masuk won two convincing games in three days, defeating visiting Stratford 18-1 on Tuesday. Lilly Cameron scored six goals versus Stratford and added three more against Notre Dame.

Charlotte Pinto contributed four goals and two assists versus Stratford. Samantha Henry netted two goals and had seven draw controls in the Notre Dame game.

The Panthers improved to 5-1. The toppled Immaculate of Danbury 20-1 after falling 6-5 to Staples of Westport. The first two wins of the campaign were a 10-6 victory at Glastonbury and 14-6 decision against Joel Barlow of Redding.

Masuk visits New Fairfield Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and returns home Tuesday to face New Milford at 6:30 p.m.
