Masuk girls lacrosse team advances to state quarterfinal

MONROE, CT — The Masuk High girls lacrosse team, the top seed in the Class L State Tournament, took care of business in its opening-round matchup. The host Panthers defeated No. 16 Bristol Eastern 16-5 on Tuesday.

With the win the Panthers will host No. 8 Guilford in Friday’s quarterfinals at 5 p.m.

Lilly Cameron scored five times, Charlotte Pinto, Bailey Bajda and Samantha Henry all scored three times and Samantha Sullivan and Jill Kilcullen both added a goal.

Goaltender Sophie Clark made four saves on nine shots in three quarters and Maddie Farrer stopped two of the three shots she faced in one quarter of action.
