SHELTON, CT — The Masuk High girls golf team’s incredible season continued with a South-West Conference Championship at Brownson Country Club on Tuesday.
The Panthers had a team score of 393; runner-up Brookfield shot 413. The top golfer was Weston’s Sadie Lee with an 82. Masuk’s Adriana Lupo was second with a 92, Alex Cecchino fourth with a 96 and Abby Yeager came in sixth with a 98.
“Very proud of the girls,” Coach Bob Pagel said. “They came in this year knowing they came up short last year, and they all had confidence that if they put the time in practicing, they could finish on top.”
“The girls in the SWC are an amazing bunch on girls,” he added. “All the teams were a joy to play with. They had a perfect weather day to play golf at Brownson Country Club, who were very gracious letting us have the course today. We have the whole team back next year, but we will be missing our senior leader, Jocelyn Allen, who had a great year.”
