Masuk girls basketball team falls to Trumbull

TRUMBULL, CT — The Masuk High girls basketball team fell 31-26 to the host Eagles in the Trumbull High holiday tournament title game on Thursday.

Masuk, which advanced with a win over Bethel, led 13-12 at the half. Trumbull seized the lead in the third quarter and posted a dozen points in the fourth to seal the win.

Hannah Fagan scored nine points, Jenna Smith had six and Bailey Bajda added five for the Panthers. Sofia Lieto, Sam Dube, Maia Ventresca and Natalie Lieto all contributed with points.

The Panthers will visit Immaculate on Jan. 3 and host Stratford on Jan. 5 — both at 7 p.m.
