Masuk cross country surprises Barlow, 26-32

MONROE, CT — With a classic display of pack running, the Masuk High School cross country team upset favored Joel Barlow by a score of 26 to 32.
Barlow captured the first two places, but the Panthers placed  the next  5 runners in front of their third runner and scored the victory.
All of Masuk’s top 7 registered personal best times and were led by Jacob Urkewich in 18 minutes 12 seconds.  He was followed by Jackson Rader, Braydon Hershberger, Sebastian Riera and Michael Majersky in places three through 7.  Jonathan Ganino and Keller Hall came in 10th and 11th,
Masuk also soundly defeated Bunnell 21 to 38 and will now get ready for the SWC championships at Bethel next week.
