Masuk boys basketball beats Bassick to even record

Alex Simoulidis scored 19 in a 74-56 win at Bassick on Thursday.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A trio of Panthers scored in double figures as the Masuk High boys basketball team defeated host Bassick 74-56 on Thursday.

Tyler Newsom led the way with 23 points, Alex Simoulidis scored 19 — nine of which came on 3-pointers — and Colin Francisco scored 11 — hitting a pair of 3s.

Mitch DeBernardo dropped in seven, Oliver Irving had five, Matt Domenichelli scored four, Ben Londono tacked on three and Maikai Roy added two.

Masuk returns to the court Tuesday, Jan. 2, with a visit to Darien and is home Thursday, Jan. 4, to entertain Weston. Both games are at 7 p.m.
