MONROE, Conn. — Jockey Hollow Middle School hosted a track and field meet at Masuk High School against Bethel and Whisconier middle schools on Friday, May 1.
Following the meet, coaches Kathleen Foley and Donald Casey Jr. said they were both pleased with their team’s overall results as Jockey Hollow’s young athletes continue to improve in their events.
“The growth made by all our athletes, especially our newcomers, is astounding for such a short amount of time,” Foley said. “It’s especially telling considering we don’t have a full track facility on campus as other schools might. It really shows our athletes’ commitment to preparation and listening to coaching tips for such success to be achieved in only our second meet.”
“We have created a family atmosphere within our track and field program during the past four years,” said Head Coach Donald Casey Jr. “Students were cheering for each other and friends from other teams throughout the entire meet. We loved seeing the Masuk bleachers filled to capacity with family, friends and students from all three schools. We have superb team spirit, and every student is a valued, important and fun member of our team. Go Lions!”
