Grace ‘Beth’ Gruber’s radiant spirit continues to inspire us all

Grace Elizabeth “Beth” Gruber, 57, of Monroe, suddenly passed from her earthly journey and gained her angel wings on January 17, 2024 surrounded by her family at University Hospital in Newark, N.J.

Beth was born on January 31, 1966 in Parsippany, N.J., to Lorretta (Foster) Neilson and the late Edward Neilson. She grew up in the Town of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., where she graduated from Spackenkill High School in 1984. Beth earned her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and her MBA from University of Bridgeport. She had been living in Connecticut since the early 1990s.

She married the love of her life, Edward Michael Gruber on May 6, 1995 at St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, N.Y. She is also survived by her children, Jeffrey Edward Gruber, Sarah Grace Gruber, Caitlyn Rose Gruber, and Hannah Elizabeth Gruber; her mother, Lorretta (Foster) Neilson; her siblings and their spouses, Eddie Neilson, Larry (Mary) Neilson, Billy (Jeanne) Neilson, Paulie (Cheryl) Neilson, Tim (Lisa) Neilson, MJ (Bob) Boudinot, Jeff (Varina) Neilson, and Peggy (Frank) Santamorena; her aunt, Patricia Foster; 19 nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; many cousins; and her beloved dogs, Stella and Stoli.

Beth’s career spanned several decades in the treasury industry with her most recent position as a Vice President at Community Preservation Corporation in New York, N.Y. Beth was most proud of her work as she loved giving back to the community.

Beth is remembered by her beaming smile and warm embraces. Grace and her husband, Ed, adored entertaining and opening their home to so many loved ones at Gruber Nation. Beth was a woman of unwavering faith who illuminated the lives of those around her with positivity and grace. Her radiant spirit continues to inspire us all.

Her smile and laughter were a beacon of joy, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to share in those precious moments. May her warmth and laughter be cherished in our memories forever.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Martin de Porres Church, 118 Cedar Valley Road, Poughkeepsie, N.Y. followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich, Conn.
