MONROE, CT — Ice cream sundaes with sweet toppings and Micalizzi’s Italian ice will be served up on the Monroe Church Green this Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. in a fundraiser for the Monroe Playground Foundation.
All are welcome to bring their own blankets and chairs to relax on the green with a cool treat. Masks are required and social distancing rules will be followed.
A two-scoop ice cream sundae with all the traditional toppings and sauces is $5 and a two-scoop Italian ice is also $5. The Italian ices are available in lemon and blue raspberry.
Parking is available at Monroe Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road.
The foundation is spearheading a project to replace the wooden playground at Wolfe Park with a safer, more modern playground with a community build. After a naming contest, it was decided it will be called The Wolfe’s Den.
