Start

Daniel S. Greenberg, of Newtown, Conn., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 22, 2026. He was 76.

Danny was born to Leonard and Celeste (Rimmerman) Greenberg on April 21, 1950 in Long Beach, N.Y. He married Marilyn, his wife of 43 years, and they raised their family in Monroe, Conn.

He graduated from SUNY Maritime College (Mechanical/Marine Engineering), University of Bridgeport (MBA), and Quinnipiac University School of Law.

Danny had success in several different careers throughout his lifetime, always pursuing projects that seemed interesting and unique. When presented with a challenge, he was known for never taking “no” for an answer.

He loved to travel for both work and pleasure with a particular affinity for the quietest beach locations in the Caribbean. As an audiophile, he loved great music and listening to it on his well-researched/self-built stereo system. He was always exploring the latest innovations in audio technology and how to incorporate these into his own system.

Danny was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn E. Greenberg, and is survived by daughter, Rachel Olivera (Herminio) of Monroe,  son, Jamie Greenberg (Mehak) of Golden, Colo., granddaughter, Hannah, grandson, Nolan, brother, Alan Greenberg, mother, Celeste Greenberg, as well as nephews Nigel, Adam and Austin, and niece, Melinda.

Danny’s wish was for each of his family and friends to celebrate his life in their own way without a formal ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Diabetes Association.

Arrangements entrusted to the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home.
