Catherine Christy (Pinciaro) was a pillar of the SCSU campus for over 30 years

Catherine Ann Christy (Pinciaro), longtime resident of Monroe, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 25, 2022. She was 61.

Born in Brighton, Mass., she was the beloved daughter of Anthony and Claire Pinciaro. Earning a Bachelor’s degree from Sacred Heart University and Master’s Degree from Southern Connecticut State University, Cathy was a beloved member of the SCSU Community, where she was a pillar of the SCSU campus for over 30 years.

Cathy enjoyed her church community where her selfless spirit and joy was evident in her help of others. Sharing her big heart, enjoying the simple pleasures of life, and happiness with her beloved family, especially her precious grandchildren is where she found her greatest pleasures.

Cathy is survived by her husband of 37 years, Steven, her sons Brian (Kai) and Scott (Meredith), and her adored grandchildren, Jackson, 10, Sadie, 2, and Bryson, 2. Cathy is also survived by her mother, Claire Pinciaro, her sister Brenda Norris, and brothers David Pinciaro, Robert Pinciaro and Thomas Pinciaro as well as many nieces and nephews. Cathy is predeceased by her father, Anthony Pinciaro.

A visitation for Catherine will be held Thursday, June 30, 2022 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son, Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 1, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment to immediately follow Mass at St. John Cemetery, 500 Moose Hill Road, Monroe.
