Big win over Bunnell highlights win for Masuk boys

Ethan Palma and the Panthers had a big win over Bunnell on Wednesday.

STRATFORD, CT — Masuk High’s boys basketball team split a pair of games against South-West Conference foes this week. The Panthers came away with a 57-53 win at Bunnell of Stratford on Wednesday, Jan. 17, then fell 63-39 at home against Kolbe Cathedral two nights later.

In the Bunnell matchup, it was a great team effort on both ends of the floor. Ethan Palma registered 17 points and two assists. Palma hit clutch late free throws to seal the win.

Matt Domenichelli was the high scorer with 23 points and had seven rebounds. Mitch DeBernardo scored nine points, had six rebounds, eight assists and a pair of steals. Alex Simoulidis had six points, seven rebounds and four assists. Colin Francisco scored four and added four rebounds. Oliver Irving grabbed three of rebounds.

Masuk will visit Brookfield Tuesday, Jan. 23, and host New Milford Friday, Jan. 26. Both games are at 7 p.m.
