MONROE, Conn. — Extended hours for absentee ballot voting for the May 5 town budget referendum is being offered at the Monroe Town Clerk’s Office at Town Hall, 7 Fan Hill Road. This option is only for those who qualify and will continue to be offered through Monday, May 4, 2026.
Regular Office Hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“I will be offering extended office hours for in-person absentee ballot voting for the upcoming May 5, 2026 Budget Referendum,” said Town Clerk Vida Stone. “The extended office hours are listed below. Please have the absentee ballot application (link below) filled out when you arrive or you may fill one out in our office.”
Extended hours:
- Thursday, April 30, 2026, 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, May 2, 2026, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Absentee Ballots cannot be mailed out due to the less than three-week notice.
Reasons that qualify you for absentee voting:
- My active service in the armed forces of the United States of America
- My absence from the town of residence
- Sickness
- Physical disability
- My religious tenants, which forbid secular activity on the day of the referendum
- My duties as a referendum official at a polling place other than my own during all of the hours of voting
