MONROE, CT — The Masuk High girls’ swimming and diving team placed eighth in the conference championships in early November with a score of 145. Weston won the competition with 530.5.
The diving competition took place at Weston High on Nov. 3 and the Panthers had two among the top 10; Kate Wittenauer was third with a score of 351.75 and Carly Jordan placed ninth with a 311.85. Additionally, Carrie Wittenauer was 11th with a 302.60 for a trio of high point getters.
The swimming competition was hosted by Masuk on Nov. 6, and the Panthers brought home some top-10 results.
In the 200 yard medley relay race, Eva Helmke, Keara Kirberger, Yara Shaik and Tori Pallas came in eighth with a time of 2:07.25.
Helmke was eighth in the 50 free in 26.40.
In the 200 freestyle relay event, Pallas, Shaik, Kirberger and Helmke placed seventh with a time of 1:52.08.
Helmke was fifth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.94.
Masuk’s 400 free relay of Christina Bajorinas, Juliette Eaton, Emily Hull and Abby Kirberger was 10th with a time of 4:45.85.
