MONROE, CT — Meals4Monroe, a Masuk High School student initiative, is running a Stock the Shelves donation drive benefitting the Monroe Food Pantry with convenient drop-off locations for nonperishable food items and toiletries around town.
Last Drop Coffee Shop, 435 Main St., and Wolfe Park, 285 Cutlers Farm Road, will have collection bins from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. on July 11, and from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on July 12 and 13.
Among the needed items are:
- Canned vegetables
- Canned beans (black, kidney, chickpeas)
- Canned soups + stews
- Canned tuna, chicken, or salmon
- Peanut butter or sunflower seed butter
- Boxed pasta + pasta sauce
- Rice, quinoa, or couscous
- Mac & Cheese
- Instant mashed potatoes
- Granola Bars
- Cereal (low-sugar)
- Hellman’s Mayonnaise
- Salad Dressing
- Condiments, such as Ketchup, Mustard, BBQ Sauce
- Ritz Crackers
- Welch’s Fruit Snacks
- Kids’ Snacks
The Monroe Food Pantry is also in need of toiletry items such as:
- Toothpaste
- Toilet paper
- Paper Towels
