Masuk High’s track and field teams had some excellent efforts in the South-West Conference championships at New Milford High on Tuesday.
The girls came in 11th with 20.42 points; Weston won with 142.42. The Masuk boys were 10th with 29; New Milford won with 126.
In the pole vault event, Grace Stephens was fourth, clearing the bar at 10 feet, and Stephanie Willumsen tied for fifth clearing 7-06. Nick Kaute came in fourth for the boys, clearing 10 feet.
Stephens was third in the high jump competition with a jump of 4-10. Daniel Hyde placed third for the boys, clearing 5-08.
Stephens was third in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.69.
Andrew Babson was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 19-00.50. Tristian Smith came in third in the shot-put competition with a throw of 42-01.75. Babson came in seventh in the triple jump with a 38-06.50.
Lukas Shamas was sixth in the javelin throw with a 130-09.
The 4×100 relay team of Colin Valle, Ethan Palmich, Jake Dellapiano and Shane Walker was fifth in a time of 45.43. The girls’ 4×100 of Ella Rigby, Kylie Hurme, Grace Walker and Athena Gruner was seventh in 53.14.
Shane Walker came in ninth in the 400 with a time of 54.46.
