Jean DeVietro, 93, loving wife, mother and homemaker

Jean DeVietro, a longtime Monroe resident, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 12,  She had just celebrated her 93rd birthday.

Born in Bridgeport on Sept. 25, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Nazzareno Berardi and Assunta (Ridolfi) Berardi. She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her children and especially adored spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Every Sunday was devoted to visits from her children and nieces, Elayne and Joan.

She is survived by her daughters, Nancy DeVietro Litwin (Peter) Anne Marie DeVietro LaQuesse (Peter); grandchildren Maggie (Josh), Peter, Nicholas, Matthew, Ashley and Peter (Laylane) and great grandchildren Lydia, Luna and Luke. Jean was predeceased by her husband Angelo DeVietro, granddaughter Nicole and nine siblings.

A special thank you to the staff at Cambridge Manor and hospice who made her last days so comfortable.

Friends are invited to calling hours Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 9:00 -11:00 a.m. at Spadaccino & Leo P. Gallagher Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated after calling hours at 11:30am at St. Jude Parish, 707 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe. Interment to immediate follow Mass at St. Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave, Stratford.
