Voters to decide three-way-battle for Connecticut’s 22nd Senatorial District

MONROE, CT — State Sen. Kevin Kelly, R-21st, and Rep. J.P. Sredzinski, R-112th, are running unopposed, but Monroe voters will have a choice for Connecticut’s 22nd Senatorial District seat on Nov. 3.

Incumbent senator, Marilyn Moore, a Democrat, is trying to fend off challenges from Republican, Steven Choi, and Independent candidate Stephen Dincher in a three-way-race.

The following are profiles with basic information about each candidate:

Government Experience: Three term state senator

Background: National Conference of Legislators – Public Health, Environment member, National Black Caucus State Legislator – chairperson of the Health & Human Service Committee, National Black Elected Legislators (NOBEL) – board member, Women’s Legislator Lobby (WiLL) – state director, Women in Government – district director, past president Les Treize, End Hunger CT, Bridgeport Black Pride, founder Breast Cancer Organization the Witness Project of CT, Inc., member of the CT Food Alliance, Food Solutions New England.

Occupation: Works in his family business, KBC Electronics in Milford, which supplies electrical components to automakers and U.S. Department of Defense contractors, among other clients.

Government Experience: Member of the Trumbull Board of Finance, 2017-present

Education: B.S., M.S., University of Connecticut

Family: Steven and his wife, Sidia, have two children in the Trumbull school system, and just Sidia recently gave birth to twins, Amanda and Abraham.

  1. How is it possible that all three candidates do not have a political website? I tried researching their platforms and they do not have a web presence? I even tried Facebook and couldn’t find anything.
