MONROE, CT — Dan Keene, president of the Monroe Playground Foundation, recently released the 2022 Holiday Spectacular, a video he produced announcing winners of the annual Light Up Monroe contest.
Light Up Monroe, a friendly competition among homeowners, has several categories for Christmas lights, displays, decorations and themes.
A panel of judges chooses winners in each category and an online vote by the public decides the winner of the People’s Choice Award.
The contest began during fundraising for the new Wolfe’s Den Playground at Wolfe Park, a modern inclusive playground that replaced the aging Kids’ Kreation. Now that the new playground is built, Light Up Monroe lives on as a town tradition.
