Robin C. Bova remembered for her ‘beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and sense of humor’

Robin C. Bova

Robin C. Bova, 55, of Trumbull passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Kevin J. Bova. Born in Stamford on August 1, 1967, she was a daughter of Leonard Roberto, Jr. of Monroe and the late Nilla (Gullotta) Roberto.

A graduate of Masuk High School, Class of 1985, she later earned her Bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Central Connecticut State University in 1991.

After taking some time to raise her family, Robin became involved in Trumbull Public Schools as a volunteer in her role as PTA President at Middlebrook School, where she served for close to four years, as well as her nearly 20-year career working as a paraprofessional at the Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (TECEC), where she built many lasting friendships.

Known as “Miss Robin” to those who knew her well, she was most recently honored for winning the prestigious TECEC Paraeducator of the Year award for 2023.

Robin was also able to combine her love of teaching and her love of fitness as a certified Zumba Instructor for many years, the perfect outlet for her boundless energy. She will be forever remembered as a consummate professional who always put the needs of children and community before her own.

Above all else, Robin’s proudest achievement was the family she built with Kevin. She loved her boys fiercely, unconditionally, and with her whole heart. She also loved her dogs and would often have one (or two) curled up on her lap while relaxing at home. Summer was her favorite time of year and she enjoyed reading by the pool or spending time on the boat. She loved game shows and was especially proud of being a winning contestant on Let’s Make a Deal in 2020.

She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend of many. We will all remember her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and sense of humor that kept us all on our toes.

In addition to her father and Kevin, her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, Robin is also survived by her loving sons, Kyle (Maria Chiaia), Jake and Scott Bova, all of Trumbull, her brother, Rick Roberto of Monroe, her sister, Susan (Kenneth) Kliczewski of Newtown and their children, Adam, Nora and Evan, her mother-in-law, Maureen Deenihan Bova, wife of the late Ronald Bova, of Trumbull as well as her sister-in-law, Colleen (Robert) Batterson of Shelton and their children, Aaron, Kimberly and Dylan.

The family would like to thank Robin’s “care team,” led by Dr. Neal Fischbach and Renee Moye APRN, as well as the dedicated nurses at the Smilow Cancer Care Center in Fairfield. We are grateful for the support and compassion you provided every step of the way.

Robin was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main St., Trumbull. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may greet the family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions payable to TECEC PTO, 240 Middlebrooks Ave., Trumbull, CT 06611, for the construction of a new playscape in Robin’s memory. For online condolences, visit www.abriola.com.
