Monroe Rotary Club serves the community throughout 2024

MONROE, CT — The Rotary Club of Monroe had a busy fall season of service projects. Earlier this year, Rotary conducted a month-long effort, “Let’s Get Personal,” collecting over 1,000 pounds of personal hygiene products, as well as cash donations, for the Monroe Food Pantry. Rotary President Ken Kellogg said the club decided to focus its annual October drive to help stock non-food items the food pantry often needs, such as toothpaste, shampoo, and diapers. Testo’s family restaurant is thriving at its new Monroe home

Mario Testa opened Testo’s at 920 Madison Ave. in Bridgeport in 1976, and despite a change in ownership, a brief retirement and two different locations along the way, Testo’s continues to be a family operation 48 years later. The current owner, Testa’s nephew, Ralph Giacobbe, who first started working in the kitchen of his uncle’s popular restaurant in 1987, ended a brief retirement and opened a new Testo’s at 505 Main St. in Monroe with his wife, Lilly, daughter, Victoria, and son, Giovanni. Masuk girls basketball team battles in setback to Staples

WESTPORT, CT — The Masuk High girls basketball team went on the road and battled with FCIAC foe Staples before falling 40-31 on Friday night. The game was even at 10-10 after one quarter of play and Staples held a 21-16 halftime lead before pulling away in the third quarter.
