Nominate candidates for Monroe’s teacher and para of the year

MONROE, CT — A great teacher inspires students to learn and provides care and compassion when they struggle, while always showing a willingness to take extra time to ensure their lessons are understood by all.

Students, parents and faculty who believe someone is a shining example of these qualities can nominate their favorite teacher as a candidate for the 2024-25 Teacher of the Year.

The hard work of Monroe Public Schools’ paraeducators will also not go unnoticed by the district.

Those who notice a paraeducator who supports classroom teachers, while displaying grace, kindness, patience, positive energy and compassion when working closely with students can nominate that person as the 2024-25 Paraeducator of the Year, an honor established last year.

Nomination forms for both categories are available on the Monroe Public Schools website.

Teacher of the Year nominees should demonstrate an unusual level of talent and accomplishment as a classroom teacher and with students, and contribute to the improvement of the teaching profession.
