BRIDGEPORT, CT — State Sen. Marilyn Moore (D-22nd) issued a statement on the tragic death of State Rep. Quentin “Q” Williams, 39, a Democrat representing Middletown, who lost his life in a fatal crash on Route 9 in Cromwell early Thursday morning.

Williams was heading south when another driver, identified as Kimede Mustafaj, 27, of Manchester, drove the wrong way and collided with his vehicle. Mustafaj also died, according to reports.

“I am absolutely devastated and saddened to hear of the passing of Representative Williams,” said Moore, who represents Bridgeport, Trumbull and Monroe. “It is hard to put into words someone’s legacy, but the passion and kindness remains foremost in my heart and mind. He will be remembered wholeheartedly in the legislature for his positivity and contributions to the people of this State. My sincerest condolences are given to his family.”

Williams had been sworn in for a new term on Wednesday.
