MONROE, Conn. — All are invited to the Monroe Lions Club’s Night of Giving Back, a dinner that will raise money for The Center for Family Justice. The event will be held at Monroe Social, 494 Main St., from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, March 7.
Tickets are $60 per person and include a buffet dinner, live music performed by jazz bassist Steve Clarke, and a silent auction for prizes donated by local businesses. For tickets, click here.
A Bridgeport native, Clarke graduated from Housatonic Community College and has worked with many critically acclaimed musicians, including two-time Grammy nominated jazz flautist Sherry Winston, R&B innovators The Coasters, The Drifters, Mary Wells, Sam & Dave, and Ben E. King. He has recorded eight CD’s and performs in tours in Europe.
All of the evening’s proceeds will go to The Center for Family Justice (CFJ). Those who cannot make it, but want to help are encouraged to consider making a donation directly to the center.
CFJ, 753 Fairfield Ave. in Bridgeport, provides free and confidential trauma-informed services and care coordination for any victim or survivor of domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and child abuse.
