Masuk girls and boys tennis teams win

MONROE, CT — Masuk High’s tennis teams capped off the regular season with some success before heading into the postseason.

The girls defeated visiting Pomperaug 4-3 on May 15. At No. 1 singles, Lexi Goldberg Friedman won 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. At No. 3 Elana Kanjo won her match 6-4, 6-2, and at No. 4 Elizabeth Teixeira won 6-1, 7-5. In doubles play, the No. 1 tandem of Lelia Giampe and Chloe Norton came out on top 6-3, 7-6.

The Masuk girls lost 4-3 at Immaculate the next day.

Masuk’s boys were 6-1 winners over visiting Immaculate on May 11, and 4-3 winners at Pomperaug on May 15.

After South-West Conference Tournament action, the Masuk players compete in the state tourney brackets beginning in late May.
