BETHEL, CT — Joel Barlow High’s baseball team beat Masuk 1-0 in the South-West Conference Tournament semifinals at Bethel on Monday.
Barlow scored its only run on an Ian Nilsen solo home run in the second inning. Christian Nilsen pitched a complete game shutout for Barlow, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 9.
Justin Feinstein pitched 6 innings for Masuk, striking out 9, while only allowing 3 hits and walking 2.
Drew Scalia and Greg Nivison each had a hit for Masuk.
Joel Barlow will play Brookfield in the SWC finals on Thursday, at Bethel at 6 p.m.
