MONROE, CT — Don Whiteley pulled up in his red, Ford F150, as a group of fellow Monroe Lions Club members awaited his arrival in the Monroe Town Hall parking lot Saturday morning. Large green wreaths with red ribbons and a step ladder filled the bed of his truck.

The Lions hung the wreaths on the front facade of Town Hall, and by the entrances to Edith Wheeler Memorial Library and the Monroe Police Department.

The annual tradition spans over three decades.

Joining Whiteley in the effort was Lions President Frank Bent, Leonard Berger, Mary Walsh, Jessica Pfalzgraf, Frank Yawrowski, Bob Boncoddo and Dave Porado.
