MONROE, CT — First Selectman Ken Kellogg announced the postponement of the Bicentennial Fireworks due to the current weather forecast, predicting a significant chance of rain and thunderstorms on Friday, especially during the early evening hours. The celebration will be held this Saturday, Aug. 5, which is forecast for mostly clear skies.

“Please note that due to the postponement, only the following food trucks are able to participate: Little Kernel’s Kettle Corn, Jim’s Ice Cream Truck, Fiesta Taco Truck (Vazzy’s) and DrewBaQ,” Kellogg said Thursday. “As always, feel free to bring your own picnic to enjoy. All other details, including parking, shuttle busses, and events remain the same.”
