MONROE, CT — A New Haven man was served a warrant at Bridgeport Superior Court Friday, charging him with the theft of a Hyundai Santa Fe from a Monroe resident last year.
Kevin Wilfong-Dixon, 20, of Hazel Street in New Haven, was already being held by the Department of Corrections on other charges, police said, adding this is the third time he was arrested for alleged thefts in Monroe.
Wilfong-Dixon was charged with second-degree larceny and third-degree burglary and arraigned on Friday, then turned back over to Corrections, according to the report.
On May 22, 2020, Monroe police officers responded to the complaint of a Hyundai being stolen from a driveway on Secret Hollow Road sometime overnight.
Monroe police detectives found the stolen vehicle in New Haven at 12:30 p.m. Police said physical evidence inside the Hyundai linked Wilfong-Dixon to the incident.
